Peter Maverick is in his early sixties and has a moderately rounded but defined figure with a good musculature and is in good physical shape. He now sports a very full white beard. As an experienced meditator he is capable of remaining very still during long poses and bringing a stillness and concentration to the studio. He has also had many years in the amateur theatre world and is comfortable with his body and using it to express a range of emotions and attitudes. He also enjoys engaging with the artists to develop poses and postures to meet the needs of the session. As an amateur artist himself he understands both sides of the process. He is available for life drawing, photography and portrait sessions within the London area, and is happy to explore other fields if there is an interest and this is why he has joined Model Mayhem. Peter is a wonderful model. He is charming from the start. He has a lovely relaxed manner, holds thoughtful poses and can really create some exciting quick poses for a series of ‘warm-up’ exercises. His prop, a wooden cane set the scene for some sturdy standing poses. The group enjoyed drawing Peter as he remains very still and focused within the time set. I originally booked Peter for his look. I needed to work with a model who had a beard and when I noticed his tattoo (of a Buddhist mantra) I felt that he would be the perfect model for my work. He was a pleasure to work with and when he found out the path I was taking with our sessions he provided props and ideas without being asked: this made my work easier and added new approaches I hadn't thought of.
I would recommend him as a model due to his ability to come up with diverse poses as well involving himself in the ideas, thank you Peter!
