Hi, I'm Katie. I'm a professional wedding and portrait photographer, and I enjoy it thoroughly! However, I'm finding myself in a bit of an artistic rut and would love to break out of that by trying my hand in a bit different of a style. I am actively seeking models to work with me as I explore the world of fine art portraits. The models that will fit my vision would be whimsical, natural/earthy, or edgy in appearance. I'm generally looking for females, but if you're a male with an edgy or interesting look, I'd love to hear from you. Don't have much experience? Perfect! Some of my favorite people I've worked with have had no modeling experience, which I've found makes it easier for them to cast off the mindset of the usual fashion-type poses and appear more candid as I direct them.
From the time I was little, I loved nothing more than to create. It didn't matter what it was, I just wanted to make things. I've had an extensive line of hobbies over the years, all related to arts and crafts. I never had an art class in high school, and only mere "craft" classes in elementary school, so for the beginning part of my creative journey, I was pretty much figuring it out on my own. Art consumed my time at college and I feel that's where I finally got the much-needed artistic direction that I'd been craving for so long. Though I thoroughly hated my time at college, being immersed in a situation with so many creative individuals was such an inspiration, and I've needed that ever since. I spent several years drawing and painting before I finally got a camera into my hands, and while I still enjoy painting and drawing (and making jewelry, clothing, accessories, housewares, and just about anything else I can think of), photography has become my main love (you know... besides my husband).
I'd love to connect with some other creative people in my area- whether they be other photographers, models, or other kinds of artists, I find inspiration in them all!
