About Me

I'm a portrait/fashion photographer with a studio in Rock Hill, SC, just outside Charlotte NC. Most of my fashion work is under the brand Don Porter Photography (donporterphotography.com). I need models for projects from time to time, but will do portfolio building and an occasional TPF when there is the opportunity to do something really new or unusual. I offer reasonable session rates for models and actors who are trying to get started (better than my family portrait rates), as well as flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

The studio is fully equipped, with 1200 sq ft, at least 6 different shooting spaces, and a large variety of backdrops, props, outfits (female, size 0-4) and shoes (female, heels, all size 8). We also have a lot of interesting outdoor spaces within a few minutes of the studio.

I'm a Nikon shooter, I use Paul C Buff studio strobes (seven of them, also battery powered for on-location work), and Pocketwizard radio triggers for the lights. We color-correct all photos, and every photo I show or deliver is finished, cropped and ready to display.

Please look over our MM portfolio. There are other examples of my work on Facebook, www.facebook.com/HalcyonHillsPhoto and on our websites halcyonhillsphoto.com and donporterphotography.com

"I can honestly say I always enjoy working with Don of Halcyon Hills. At our last shoot we got to play with a fun idea and I really hope it pays off for him. I always try and give him my very best and he always gives me beautiful clear head shots of my work. He is a steady professional, is always there well before his clients, a gentleman, with a lovely Store Front studio right in a historic area. Perfect for family photos, senior images, etc. As well as your updated modeling images" Read less
