Hello!

The name's Wendy and I'm a freelance makeup artist hailing from Hamilton, Ontario.
I'm a graduate of Complections International, Toronto ON, 2007. I took the 8 month masters course, which included theatrical makeup, wig knotting, hair styling, makeup for fashion, editorial, runway etc, film/television and special effects, prosthetics, and finally animatronics.
I've come a long way, and have conquered some fears and accomplished some goals I've created for myself along the way. This is my passion, something I truly love to do. And it shows in my handiwork.
I've had the privilege of working with some amazing people in the past few years I've been doing makeup, and look forward to many more years of it.

My main area of expertise lies in special f/x makeup. I am a true lover of the dark and the macabre. I grew up with some of the classics of our time - Evil Dead, Exorcist, The Hills Have Eyes, Nightmare on Elm Street...just to name a few. By my teens I became quite curious with the movie magic. "How did they do that?". Next thing I knew, I discovered Tom Savini, Dick Smith, Rick Baker etc. and thus spawned my love of the horror fx genre. My background is from the 'old school' days. Sure, CGI and special 'movie magic' these days look fantastic, don't get me wrong. But you simply cannot get the same *feel* as the classics. Everything made by hand. No fancy computer magic to aid in the process. That's where it's at.

Halloween is my Christmas....or if you know me in person, it's my "Everyday". I love it, and I'm always busy busy busy with makeup and special events for Halloween.

OK. That all being said, I'm always looking to fill up my spare time (yes, I hold down a "regular" job as well) with gigs. Please, feel free to contact me with ANY ideas! I've done a wide variety of shoots. I'm quite able eager and raring to go with whatever concept you may have in mind. Bouncing ideas off of other creative individuals gives me a strange high. I love it.
