A self-taught photographer - Sheldon’s journey began at a young age. With the good fortune of being the son of a color lab owner, Sheldon was able to hand his father rolls of film in the morning & receive the prints back before dinner. There was never a lack of film either.

Cowles was always showered with top of the line hand-me-down cameras after his father got the newest versions. He got his Mothers hand-me-down cameras and equipment too.

Around the time Sheldon was a teenager he had discovered if he varied a bit from what the flashing lights in the viewfinder were telling him to do to achieve a “good” picture, he could actually make awesome photos.

Although Sheldon always places a heavy emphasis on correct exposure at the time the image is taken — reducing post processing time, the diamond usually gets a bit of polishing in the end. Post processing is done using Adobe Photoshop which includes color management and touch up — if necessary.
