Hi, I'm Alyssa and AMW photography is my passion project. I'm a self-taught photographer, my only official education in photography is from high school, which is where I truly fell in love with the art. I learned that I love portrait work, I enjoy capturing the true beauty of a person, and seeing a smile on someone's face when you say " this is you, look at how beautiful you are." When I first stepped into the photography world, I started in black and white film photography, and got to experience using the dark room and naturally editing my work with light; then I learned Photoshop, and everything became digital. I like to embrace my roots and look at things in black and white, sometimes taking away the drama of colour, you see things differently and an image can completely change in front of your eyes. I call photography my passion project because it was that one thing missing in my life, something besides family and friends that truly makes me happy. Photography isn't just a hobby or a possible career path, it's my art and my way of expressing myself and showing people who they really are through images.
