For me, modeling is a way to increase the presence of Asian persons in art. It is the documentation of an underrepresented group as a means to normalize our existence within hegemonic American culture. Too often, Asian women are relegated to fetish objects (Geishas, Dragon-Lady's, etc), and Asian-American women's "Americanness" is denied by a hegemony determined to establish us an Other. I believe that Art is most powerful tool to impact society, and I seek to employ art to bring about racial equality, as well as other social and ecological justice issues. Because of my particular interest in advancing Asian-American women, I must choose the projects I am involved with very carefully and actively avoid anything that reinforces negative stereotypes.

I am a visual artist primarily interested in working with other artists, although commercial work will be considered.
