About Me

Daniel Nathan is a visual artist who owns and operates a boutique studio in the Shaw District of Washington, DC.

Born in Riverside, California, Daniel unwittingly began to cultivate his photographic eye from an early age in his attempt to reconcile growing up as a minority in a strikingly beautiful environment. Similarly, the origins of Daniel's gift for navigating the emotions of his subjects and infusing them into his work date back to mechanisms developed during his childhood as a means to circumnavigate the inherent obstacles of an unpredictably turbulent household. 

Fusing Daniel's lifelong love of people and his natural adeptness for nearly all things technology, the connection between him and camera came to fruition by way of a study abroad trip to Cape Town, South Africa during his tenure at the George Washington School of Law. Inspired by the beauty surrounding him and emboldened by the semi professional camera held at his side, Cape Town served as a backdrop in a turning point in Daniel's life; the first time he fell in love with photography.   

Daniel considers himself an ever-evolving student of his craft and strives to capture images that in themselves serve as an inaudible soliloquy to this fascinating narrative we call life.

Hey, I'm interested to come to America in future but at the moment while traveling is still difficult, I am offering remote shoots in Melbourne until March 4th. I'm currently working with other photographers to do remote/virtual shoots but I hope to get my own gear & do more on location remote shoots so I should have other locations around Australia to offer in future. I have a city central apartment with a rooftop balcony, large natural light windows, a range of backdrops & can use the buildings facilities of a gym, spa, pool & sauna as well as the indoor concreate fire escape. My rates for remote shoots are less than what I charge for in person shoots. Let me know how many hours you would like me to quote you for & if you like to pay by PayPal or a bank transfer to my UK bank or AUS bank. We would tether the camera to the laptop & screen share so you can control the settings/shots. We can chat over FaceTime or WhatsApp during the shoot.
