I began as a hobbyist photographer. I have worked with children and adolescents my whole career as a counselor. I began to notice the ways that emotions could be captured with the camera, and started expanding my work as a photographer. I have trended towards portraiture and some event work. I find that I like the small evocative moments in a shoot. Those unguarded smiles and looks that convey so much emotion. Because of the work as a counselor, I feel I can help create that at ease process with young people. I am less directive and go more with where the model is at.
