I am as much of a novice as you could wish to meet, but I hope that won't work wholly against me.

We were all novices at one time or another, weren't we?

I am based in Leeds and have a keen interest in developing my photography skills. I enjoy many aspects of photography, and am improving over time, however I am particularly interested in building up my skills in portrait photography.

I have a good eye for a striking photo, and enough skill to execute it.

What I don't have, is a longer list;

I don't have the courage to approach people that I find fascinating in the street, and ask if I can take their photograph.
I don't have the best equipment available.
I don't have the confidence to approach friends to ask for their time and faces.
I don't have all that much time to commit to this.
I don't have any experience to speak of.

But with all that said, I hope that I might find people on here who are willing to work with me, who may be novices to a similar degree and we can make our way through the dark together for a time.

I am interested in taking striking, interesting photographs of striking interesting people. My view of what makes a person striking or interesting changes often. In the right setting, pretty much anyone can make an interesting and striking subject, given half the chance.

I've ticked a few boxes for the Genres that interest me overall, but to begin with, I hope to shoot quite simple, close up, black and white facial portraits, in outdoor settings within Leeds and surrounding areas.

Hopefully some of you fine people will be able to help me out.

As I'm learning, I'm willing to pay those of you who might be willing to share advice and tips along the way; however as I'm likely to make a lot of mistakes to begin with, and expect this to be a long journey, I'd prefer to offer Time for Print or Time for CD to most.
