Hi there...here are a few things about me, presented in semi-outline, numerical format!

1. My work is primarily documentary and editorial portraiture and I've been a working photographer for roughly 20 years as a staffer at a few newspapers and as a freelancer for a variety of magazines, publications, organizations and other entities.

2. There are usually a number of personal projects that I'm working on, and that's where this here website comes in handy. At the most basic level, what I'm looking to create is well lit, engaging and interesting portraits. I mean images that incorporate a bit of personality to them and that reveal something about the individual in the image. 

3. Add into the above, images with a bit of a darker, film noir-ish feel to them. Deep shadows, contrasting highlights...think 1940s detective novels/ movies.

4. I'm also looking to make photographs at dusk or night using long exposures, strobes and painting with light. By long exposures, I mean 30 seconds to several minutes. Using the strobes will "freeze" the action, but the long exposure will render moving water and clouds as more of a diaphanous fog as well as bring out the stars in the sky. Make it long enough, and the stars turn to streaks in the sky.

5. Indoors, outdoors...both are fine, location-wise. Well, except for item four, that has to be done outside. I tend toward places that have more of timeworn sense to them or even a forgotten feel about them--old buildings, junkyards that sort of thing. Though, I'm certainly open to things outside of that.

6. I'm very easy going and professional in both my approach and the work produced. I can also provide a link to "regular" work as well.

7. Above all, it should just be fun, no?
