My name is Michael and I am a self-taught advanced-amateur photographer in the Metro-Detroit area who is looking to rebuild my portfolio, and to take my photography to the next level. I became addicted to photography in high school and have enjoyed many aspects of photography including real estate/architectural photography, landscapes, weddings, and senior portraits. My main focus is portrait photography. For me, portrait photography allows more freedom, expression, and creativity. It’s fun to be able to capture someone’s personality in a photograph, or to give them a totally different look and personality through creative posing, props, and lighting
I am serious about my craft, yet I like to have fun, and I expect no less from someone I agree to work with. All I ask is that you be on time, be willing to treat the shoot as a team effort, and leave the attitude at home. Life is too short to sweat the little stuff, so let’s relax, have some fun, and not worry about trying to get the “perfect pose.” If you have any ideas or suggestions before or during, or after the shoot, I want to hear them. I feel you are just as important to me as I am to you, so let’s work to make our time together a win-win deal for both of us.
Models will be responsible for their own hair, make-up, and wardrobe unless other arrangements have been made in advance. ( I can only do barrettes and pony tails, I don’t do make-up, and being a guy, I am the last one you want picking out your clothes…) I have various backdrops, speed-lights, studio strobes, modifiers, and reflectors so we can be very imaginative in what we can create.
Again I want to stress that I want to work with people that are serious about what they are doing and will show up at the time they commit to, are willing to work and learn together, and want to contribute as part of a team. I don’t need someone that just wants to get by with as little effort as possible or is more worried about checking their texts than being part of the shoot. I will treat you as a professional, and I expect the same in return. I do require a model release be signed, and I will provide you with a release for the images I supply to you.
