Lidia Wachowska is a Chicago- based designer who brings versatile and edgy fashion solutions to a population of nonconforming women who want to stand out in the crowd. Lidia began her work as a designer in Chicago at age 19 when she moved here from Poland. Her clothing label, Evil Kitty, established unexpectedly from a digital and illustration project she was working on while attending The Art Institute of Chicago.

The collection displays Lidia’s keen ability to create innovative texture and fabric combinations resulting in adverse yet stylish designs. She has since evolved her collection from t-shirts to couture leading this brand down a successful path. Lidia incorpo- rates inspiration from Japanese street art and film as well as the classic appeals of early 1940s and 1950s in a unique way that truly captures the contumaciousness of Evil Kitty.

Although not fully equipped with the background of working with more established designers before emerging Evil Kitty, Lidia and her brand are an excellent example of what working hard and pursuing your passion can accomplish. Today, Lidia has received generous amounts of press coverage of her unique designs, has been accepted in the Chicago Fashion Incubator, collaborated with Toyota Japan and has had Evil Kitty featured in numerous press and events.
