BEHIND THE LENS

In the summer of 2011, after receiving his Master's Degree from Full Sail University, Mike Walburn moved out to Los Angeles, CA to follow his heart. His car was filled to the brim as he left his hometown of Muskegon, Michigan to what he now calls home in LA.

With a Bachelor's Degree in Film and a Master's Degree in creative writing, Mike turned to the film industry to start his career. Appearing on hit shows such as Californication, NCIS: Los Angeles, Bones, House, and many others, however; Mike's light was beginning to shine a little too bright for just background acting. And in late 2012 Mike would find his new path to etch his name in when he was offered an opportunity to do some Set Still Photography work. Starting on amateur movies and a few web series', Mike made his way up in the field, working with legends such as Michael Jai White on Vigilante Diaries as well as up-and-comer Curtis Hamilton!

In the summer of 2013 Mike’s career would take another turn when he was lucky enough to receive a Canon 30D from a respectful photographer in Muskegon. With his true artist in him wanting to evolve as photographer, he began a new adventure in the Headshot world! Just like with his Set Still, Mike pours all of his focus into building an impressive portfolio.

As a Headshot Photographer, Mike specializes in creating the best photos for your profile and knows how important it is to have a photo that best represents YOU! Nowadays, social media is a high factor in our careers. Mike's main focus is making you look confident, professional, and approachable; he encourages everyone to invest in themselves!

By joining Model Mayhem I'm hoping to be able help models and actors find the right photographer that fits they're needs. I want them to feel comfortable being themselves and feel like they can have fun and be able to make mistakes while shooting with me and know that it's okay to mess up. Because trying to get it right sucks.
