Down to business: most everyone tells me I have an “amazing” or “exotic” or “intoxifying” look they would “love” to capture. It is not news to me that I am perceived in this way. I appreciate given compliments, and my rate is still $75 an hour standard. I am Russian trained in ballet (still training) with a background in Chinese martial arts (tai chi, shaolin, female sword form ninjitsu, all of which I continue to practice). I cross train in vinyasa yoga, acrobatics, and gymnastics, with experience training in rhythmic gymnastics. I also study violin seriously (my teachers for both ballet and violin are among the very top in the world...Russian, of course). I work, and study Biology in college on top of my training focuses. My free time is spent studying the expression and artistry of masters in my respective fields; also including acting, writing, and fine art. Even my rest is a form of cultivation for my purposes as an artist. Everything I do, EVERYTHING I do, is a form of practice in contribution to my intrinsic cultivation so that I may be of true benefit to others (I am also a Buddhist) and so that I may one day either meet or surpass the Masters who have taught me and continue to teach me. That being said, I must remain mindful and pragmatic with respect to the projects I choose to invest my own time and energy in. Thus when it comes to inquires about TFP shoots (and I get way too many): I am very busy, and I already have a photographer for portfolio shoots. Thus, once more, my shoot rate is $75 an hour.
When I do shoot, I relax deeply and naturally into the work; I do not have an ego when it comes to performance besides what is necessary to build and emulate the given characters and states of energy requested for a job. Modeling for me is not merely a matter of standing in place posing and projecting prettiness; rather, it is the action of the culmination of all of my training, experience, and intrinsic essence focused mindfully at ease into one moment. I bring everything I have ever learned to the table for every shot; and given that I spend all of my time working on myself, my training, and my studies (and coming from numerous backgrounds and a broad spectrum of worldly experience); visualize what that could mean for your own endeavors. =]
