About Me

Cor76 Photo comes from 10 years in the study of Visual Arts. I can began in the arts as a stage actor when I was kid. Coming from little money my parents couldn't afford to take me to film auditions. This forced me to be creative at home with whatever I had around me. By about 16...17 I really began writing poetry religiously. I mean everyday all day I would be making something. I brought my journals to class, got terrible grades but was asked to recite in one of my classes and eventually got published. I was still doing school theater at this time but my Artistic Voice was not compatible. I had a conflict with another writer putting words in my mouth, whether I believed in her or his convictions. After High school I DJ'd for a couple months and then bailed on all that art stuff and was more into being a "tough guy" and building my body, which I had been doing since about age 14. I ran a Personal Training business and bounced at a nightclub at night. Between this and college my life became overly sterile and mechanical. When I was 20 I got really sick and had an epiphany. I realized that I truly was an artist and that I wasn't going to live forever. I decided there and then that I was gonna move to LA and just dive into art, tapping into that source that I could feel glowing in the peripheral of my inner universe. So that's what I did. Within a week I was working at a restaurant in LA. I wanted to erase the fake persona that had infected my soul, central nervous system, whatever you wanna call it. I used Meisner Method Acting as my portal to get real again. All the money that I saved didn't go to head shots or any "Hollywood Induced Artist Success Measure". It went to an intensive Method Acting class with a first generation disciple of Meisner. Now, I had been writing and writing, doing vocals for hardcore bands, just tearing through my flesh as much as I could since I'd moved. But that class is what tipped me the rest of the way into my "new eyes". The Poetry, Acting, Music, Chemistry, and Science all combined into affirming that I wanted to make Films. I hit Film School intensely, finished, and over the period of 6 years, completed my screenplay. I never wanted to work in Hollywood for the Production companies, doing 14 hour days for someone else's projects and enslaving myself to social climbing. If you're still with me, here's where it wraps up. After school my artist activities dimmed, I just wanted to have fun for once and date pretty women, go on adventures, live life. And that's what I did. I loosened up and lived a little, traveled, got into Harley's, started doing Hair and shooting fashion/art photography. I humbled myself to the idea that my photo skills could improve so I kept taking classes and continue to this day. I know that both the film and photography worlds are coming together. For now my passion lies in photography. Put simply it is poetry. Writing down poems on paper isn't enough for me. I want to shoot them, see them, share them, and inspire that small nameless tribe of true artists out there.
