My interest in photography began in 1983 while stationed in Berlin, Germany with the United States Army. I purchased my first film SLR camera there and began photographing candids, life events, landscapes, cityscapes, and my various deployments. In 1999 I purchased my first point and shoot digital still camera and another one in 2010. In 2014 I purchased my first digital SLR camera and began shooting anniversaries, boudoir, commercial real estate, headshots, pinups, portraits, sports, and weddings. In 2015 I opened DBSS Photography in Norfolk, VA.
