Four years ago I decided to take a leap of faith and pursue my dreams. I wanted to be a published writer/author and photographer and artist. To my wonder and astonishment, the first has come true in spades. I have six novels and multiple short stories and novellas professionally published and I am doing well enough that I expect to be able to quit my day job sometime in 2015.

Then I began to think, if I've done this, why not the rest? So I got me a pretty decent camera and began to search for models. I love photographing cityscapes, nature, graveyards (the old monuments were extraordinary), but what I really wanted was to photograph men.

Early in my life I discovered an amazing book of photography by Charles R Collum called "New York Nude." I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Suddenly I was made aware of a nudity for the sake of seeing just how beautiful and natural the nude body can be. It changed me!

Soon I found the work of Vicktor Skrebneski and once again I was transported. Then came Herb Ritts. WOW! And it wasn’t pornography. Next came David Morgan and Jim French and OMG! Tom Bianchi!

I wondered what it would be like to be in the artist’s place. To be creating such works of art. To be able to be comfortable in with these men, make them comfortable, and to create art. Imagine!

THEN an opportunity came for me to do the cover of one of my books--but I couldn't find the models. In fact, finding models was quite an undertaking. I had mostly had to resort to places like Craigslist! What happened was that I didn't get to do my cover.

And then I found out about Model Mayhem. A photographer and writer friend of mine who IS getting to do his own covers told me about the site. So here I am!

And I can't wait to see what happens next! After all, leap, and the net will appear!
