Here I am at middle age and I feel like I am starting all over again. It's been decades (two to be precise) since I left school and I can say that I have found a need to get back to where I started. I have always enjoyed art, the act of making it the joy of experiencing it, and the insight it gives us not only into the world but ultimately into ourselves. Shunning a strictly art education, I ended up taking 12 years to finally put myself through a more technically based design program at university. That endeavour was mixed with periods of being homeless and having no cash. This second decade has been devoted to raising my small family. While I am still looking to find a good fit for my formal education in architecture and urban design, I have taken that good hard look at myself and made a promise to get back to more art. Not only for my benefit, but also to help expand the horizons of my two young children. I look forward to being able to share the experience with people and anticipate needing a lot of help along the way to shake of the rust and keep my motivation going.
