I've been taking photographs since I was in my teens - I'm now in my 60's. I lived in Dubai in the 80's and was regularly asked to shoot head-shots for the local drama groups, of which there were many. I also shot dress rehearsals. On returning to England I took a weekend job with the local newspaper photographing local events including summer fêtes, Christmas Fayres, cheque presentations, sport and in fact anything that was happening locally.
A house move meant I lost my darkroom and my photographic activity dropped off. In 2010, prior to a school trip to China, I bought my first decent DSLR and rekindled my interest. Since taking early semi-retirement around 3 years ago I've bought a (small) home studio and upgraded my cameras. In recent years I have done a lot of portrait work including head-shots for school productions, school proms, family groups, graduation shots, an anniversary dinner as well as a couple of weddings.
I feel very confident with standard portraiture but am looking to become more creative as well as expanding my range and I would like to work with professional and semi-professional models to expand my portfolio.
