Fashion Photographer Tim Walker said to “only photograph what you love.” Well, I love San Diego, and I love photographing the people, places, the art, and the culture here.

Photography is powerful. Every photograph immortalizes a single moment in time, where the subjects, the location, and their story are magnified for eternity. I think that is pretty amazing.

I am always looking to find new stories to tell, here in San Diego or elsewhere. As artists, I think that we need to be more than just a documentarian. As photographers, I think at times it is easy to get to caught up in capturing art that mirrors life, that we can forget to create art which shapes life. I mean, if every photo is “worth a thousand words,” then what is the story that we are trying to tell the world with each photo that we take?
