My name Is Stina Bates, and I'm a 23 year old Bay Area Native. As a child i participated in beauty pageants, the glitz and glam was nice from time to time but none of it ever seemed realistic. These women would wear themselves out trying to be the epitome of perfection, just to represent a society that would never truly appreciate their raw beauty. This society uses our vulnerabilities daily to make a profit. The Media constantly manipulates us into thinking that there is always something we need to enhance or fix in order to obtain "Perfection". But who made these beauty standards? And why must we all stick to them? There has to be a change in the way people perceive beauty and i intend on helping make that change. We have to unlearn what society has instilled in us so that we can teach the next generation the true meaning of loving yourself and your body. I'm 4'9, Thick and I'm wholeheartedly pursuing modeling. I'm very aware that the odds are against me because most models are tall & thin, but I'm devoted to breaking the boundaries that have been set. I'd like to consider myself a hard worker especially when it comes to modeling, I'm determined to get the shot and i wont stop until i do.
