About Me

My passion
I got my first camera when I was 12 years old. It was a Pentax ME Super with aperture priority. It had with it a 50 mm lens and a 135 mm lens for portraits. I took a photography class and then volunteered for the yearbook as photographer and my passion in photography was born. As the yearbook photographer for the next six years honed my skills and open doors to do professional work. But it still wasn't paying the bills. So, after college I enlisted into the Army. Got married, had kids, and retired from the Army. All the while making photographs as a hobby, my passion is still to turn my photography into my day job. If you're not totally bored yet, continue reading.
I was born in Santa Paula California. I Lived in California, until I joined the Army. While stationed in Germany I met my beautiful now ex-wife Anja. We were graced with two beautiful girls Joanna and Janice and are now in college. The newest member of the family is Mia. She is the first of hopefully many grandchildren. And of course we did and still do have pets.
I know, I just reread this and it is start to put me to sleep. After downing a cup coffee, let's start talking about my passion photography. The reason why I first was drawn to photography is summed up by Marc Riboud “photography is savouring life at 1/100th of a second.” In the beginning taking a roll of film and then waiting to see if it came out good or bad is like Christmas. Sometimes even get something that is exciting and full of life that you didn't remember taking. Each photograph is a sliver of time, a sliver of history, and something to be shared with everyone. In today's digital photography is made that even better because you don't have to wait for processing. “Our personal growth can fuel our photography and our photography can fuel our personal growth.” Brooks Jensen
In closing Chris Courselle is an international photographer based in Mönchengladbach, Germany traveling the globe to fulfil his assignments.
