I am Jan Bella, Slovakian-born photographer, keen traveler and climber living in the English Lake District. First, I started photographing landscapes when fifteen.
I have traveled to photograph interesting landscapes across the world from England and Scotland to the Alps and Himalayas, as well as making countless trips back home. In past year I have worked on series of portraits of holy man in Varanasi, India and photographed tribes in Ethiopia. I have photographed for first running guide book for the Lake district which will be published by Vertebrate Publishing this summer and my portraits are going to be featured for the Utopian cities project. I'm inspired by Baroque and Romantic painters like Velázquez and Rembrandt. In all my photographic work,I set myself a challenges and to portray my subjects with dignity and grace. I enjoy learning about photography and I'm happy to travel to meet and work with people around England. Tags
