Albert Einstein once said, “Reality is merely an illusion.” Hold that thought…

I started enjoying the art of photography at age 14. Equipped with a small Kodak point and shoot camera, I snapped thousands of photos of school buses and from there my relationship with light has only grown. The compact point and shoot I started with soon became a Sony Alpha. This upgrade allowed the ability to swap lenses, attach filters, and tinker with settings and apertures which enhanced the aforementioned relationship I have with light. The difference in focal lengths of various lenses and filter selection validates Einstein’s claim about reality; for with these optical instruments I can shape and alter the rays (or points) of light to create a reality which differs from one viewed in real time.

I have dabbled in many genres of photography including landscape, plant and animal life (including humans), and food, to name a few. After about seven years I have found my stronger works are in the genres of landscapes, and nature. For me it is the imperfection and intricacy that mother nature delivers which changes from one moment to the next. What was once alive can now be dead and may one day live again or at least be part of a living organism. I like to illustrate this in my photography; that life is not always as it seems and can change within in a moment’s notice.
