Originally from Mexico City, Andres Monroy is a photographer living in Vancouver, Canada.

His initiation to photography was with a pocket camera which sparked a deep interest for this art. Over time, he developed an intense desire to learn, practice and experiment - his interest transformed into passion. His knowledge and application has evolved through technical lectures, weekly evaluation of other photographer’s work, reflection, critique, theory, discussion and feedback of colleges from around the world as well as countless hours of implementation.

Andres has participated in diverse photography sessions, with groups and individually. He has worked with models and without. He has shot in various places, environments, scenarios and conditions. He is engaged in different groups in social media and has been involved in photo walks. Some of his work has been entered to competitions and has been published on various art sites.

He has explored different photography styles such as: glamour, candid, nature, macro, minimalistic, speed and long exposure. Through photography, Andres has developed a new way of seeing nature, expressions, colours, textures, light, instances... - in a word: Life. He has an inclination for urban, portrait, nature and abstract photography. 

Andres' work continues evolving with short and long term protects. Not easily satisfied, he is always looking for ways to improve his craft. He loves to look for another perspective and to experiment with balance, colours, depth and light conditions. His goal is to achieve photography that captivates, that transmits emotion, awakens feelings, that transcends. As Henry Cartier-Bresson once said: “…photography is it is to put on the same line of sight the head, the eye and the heart.”
