Colton Clifford is an art photographer with his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from Sam Houston State University. Clifford's work uses candy coated, hyper-reality to discuss memory and the mundane culture of suburbia. His work has a sense of cinema and discusses gender roles placed on men and women, with occasional nods to fashion. He has been honored in his receiving of Grand Prize in the 2015 Portraits Exhibition from the New York Center for Photographic Arts, the 2014 Art Endowment Scholarship, The Emmett Jackson Endowed Scholarship, and his award of Best in Show during the 15th Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition. Clifford was a Student Art Association Officer (Co-Historian) and a Digital Photography Lab and Studio Manager. He has also curated many gallery shows including Untitled #57 (2013), Color + Light (2014), and Hydrodynamics: A Reflection (2013). As well as being proactive in showing work in shows like The Future…Now (2014) in downtown Houston, Triple Ditched + Lied To (2014) for his collaborative video performance, and Noting To See Here (2014) a group self-portrait exhibition.
