About Me

*Looking for a serious Agency*

Hello,

I'm a mixed young woman, haitian and canadian, from Montréal. Still in Montréal. Though I make the trip back and forth often to New York. Being a colored woman in the modeling industry in Montréal is very hard. I'm 19 years old now, but ever since I was 17, when I started my modeling career, I noticed that it was harder for me to get jobs and a woman with pale skin and straight hair would always be the one chosen during castings. All ethnicities are beautiful. ALL skin tones, ALL hair types, ALL figures and ALL cultures have their own unique beauty. Unfortunately, I feel too different to please my city's agencies' standards. Some will say it's a blessing, others will say it's a curse: on one hand it makes me stand out, but on the other, change and difference can be scary for some.

But none of this stopped me. Racism and criticism don't affect me enough to stop me from achieving my dreams. Yes, my dream is to finally become the freelance international artist that I want to be. I'm too funky to work from 9 to 5, 5 days a weeks, sitting in front of a computer in a cold office. I need to move, discover new spaces and people!

For the past 2 years, I've been working as an extra on a few american productions, modeled for Tocara and clothing designers, have participated in fashion shows and a beauty contest, became the New Face of Miel Cosmetics, designed a music album (which you can see here: www.FallWithMe.com) and did many more fun craps. I hope you're find my profile interesting and feel free to ask me any questions.

I am good at painting, drawing, dancing and I speak English, French and Haitian Creole.

Peace!

Jaz, Only one Z
