Christine Niemann is an international surrealist photographer. A lover of black and white images and things that go bump in the night, she draws inspiration from blurred lines between reality and fantasy. Her work exists in a dream-like place that causes the viewer to question what is truth and what is illusion.

Niemann explores,discovers, tests and experiments while pushing the boundaries of conventionalism. The results are deeply expressive, yet often mysterious visuals that give us a glimpse of the world through the artist’s eyes.

A native of Bogotá Colombia, Niemann’s photography pursuits began at the age of 18 with an Analogue Canon Rebel ESO. “Thecamera was and has only been my true connection to my father. He was a mystery to me, a man I never really got to know. He was an avid amateur photographer,and his love for photography was also given to me.”

She attended La Tadeo in Bogotá and learned the ins and outs of the old ways of the darkroom. She then furthered her education at the University of South Florida, where she earned a degree in Classical Studies.

In her work, Niemann captures the mystical complexities of imaginings. Inspirations are drawn from the wonder of nature, the mystique of the female, the imagination of children and long walks in the woods. She is not afraid to explore the spectrum of daydreams nightmares, all the while maintaining a deep relationship with the eccentricities of the human experience.

Today Niemann is the owner of Wandering Wooni and produces surreal portraiture, and videography for private and promotional purposes. Additionally, she is a stock photographer for Arcangel Images and 500px Prime. Her work has been featured in Vogue Italia and Wall Street International Magazine.
