Hi! I'm Miranda, but my friends call me Mira or Miramay. I'm here on ModelMayhem because I love being in front of a camera, and I want to broaden my experience. I hope to continue to hone my skills as a cosplayer, but also to branch into more traditional modeling. I want to celebrate myself, the things I love, the photographers I work with and the art they create!

I'm from rural North Carolina originally, although now I'm based in Washington, D.C. These days, I'm pretty involved in cosplay, which is a compromise between my love of being in front of a camera, and my passion for learning crafts like sewing and prop-making. I love getting into character, and really making my mark! That said, I really would like to branch out and do other things. I'd like to do stuff that is still creative but relies less on a character, or at least, a pre-established one. Let's do crazy makeup! Or no makeup at all! Let's do wacky outfits, or lingerie! Let's work on a theme, or be totally spontaneous!

On a more personal note, I have a cat named Scully (as in Special Agent Dana) and a snake named Kaa, like from The Jungle Book. I love survival horror video games like Silent Hill, Fatal Frame and Outlast, and horror movies as well. I'm always down for some gore! Conversely, I love the super-feminine; I grew up with stuff like Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura. Batman is my favorite super-hero, and I frequently cosplay Harley Quinn. I read lots, and co-manage a comic book store.
