Hi, my name is Ed.  I’m looking to try a new direction with my portfolio.

This started during Covid and I’m continuing it.  There was no work so, like many,  I decided to update my portfolio.  The problem with portfolios is they can easily become a history of what you’ve been doing, not necessarily what you want to do.  It’s true the work you show is the work you get. 

For example I used to shoot weddings, but no longer do.  If I fill my portfolio with wedding shots what’s what ppl will look to me for.

So it raises the question: what do I want to do?  What makes my work different from everyone else’s?  It becomes a soul searching thing. 

So I decided to follow my “Muse” and see where it leads me.  Shoot for myself, no art directors telling me what to do….

I’ve always loved the classical “Old World” look so I did some of that.  These are in the Classical Photos album.  But before long, I wanted to do something more casual and modern.  Pretty much the opposite, go figure!  So I did some of that.  A first attempt is in the Casual Photos album.

My Muse is difficult to follow!  I’ll no doubt wind up shooting something that’s a combination of both, but we’ll see….

For now I’ll shoot some of each and see where it all leads me???
