My name is Christian Grobbelaar and I suck at writing about pages. I've always found them weird and overly self reflective. There is this fine line between tooting your own horn and coming across as a dull individual, this gives me anxiety and makes the process overall painful.

Now that we have that out of the way, what do I do? Well I do a lot! I am a filmmaker, I write, direct, edit, shoot. I'll do anything as long as it doesn't involve me touching a mic. I don't understand sound and might never will. I am also one of the co-founders of KickBack, which is a small independent production company based in Johannesburg. We shoot events primarily but hope to branch out in the future.

I have also worked for bigger organisations. I worked at the 2014 SAFTA's and have been freelance editing for companies such as Tiger Brands.

I also enjoy photography and dabble in that occasionally. I shoot professionally for Kickback.

I might as well get this out there. The question I am asked most is what my favourite film is and honestly I don't know. I love many films. My favourite genre is horror, but I will and have watched everything.
