UPDATED August 2022: Now that the majority of adults in the USA have been vaccinated against COVID, let's get building our portfolios again.

I founded a photography Meetup group in Ann Arbor, Michigan (YOUR Photography Group), but ended that group in favor of starting a more professional photography group (The Photography Guild). We are looking for models interested in building their portfolios in fun, unique, and only tastefully G-rated photoshoots. All photos are freely provided to models - you own the rights to all photographs, and no model releases will ever be asked to be sighed.

I have experiance photographing ordinary people; models; professional dancers; musicians; actors; filmmakers; even an Oscar nominated actor and an Oscar winning filmmaker; and the woman who graced the cover of Playboy Magazine a record 14 times - Pamela Denise Anderson. I have been a very serious part-time photographer for a very long time. I have been hired to photograph many weddings, and was awarded First Place in a huge, state-wide photography competition held and judged by The Detroit News. Currently, I serve as the photographer for the Michigan Theater Foundation, The University of Michigan Department of Dance, Henry Ford Museum, Yankee Air Museum, and Northville Art House.

Upon accepting an early retirement from my position as a research physicist, I moved to the suburbs of Chicago and became one the most active members and Event Organizers of the Naperville Photography Meetup Group. This very active photography group scheduled an average of four photography events per week for all of the four years I served as an Event Organizer. This group fostered my interest in portrait photography, and the group scheduled many events with models from this Model Mayhem site. Models then posted my work on their sites here on Model Mayhem. These models invited me to join this site. I moved back to Ann Arbor, Michigan in 2018, and am working on establishing this level of photography activity in Michigan.

I use a 16-bit Hasselblad medium format camera and Nikon's highest resolution professional DSLR cameras - the D850, D810, and D800. A 16-bit photograph captures 256 times more information than any JPEG photo can capture, since JPEGs are only 8-bit images. I own more than a dozen of the very best Zeiss and Nikon professional lenses, and own eight professional studio strobes with a large assortment of light modifiers and backdrops. I am happy to freely use my experience and professional gear to help models in any why that I can.
