I use my own photography of human figures in place of 'life' models, and use the photos to draw and paint from. I like pencils, inks, acrylics, oil paint and digital media, but prefer oil paint over everything else. I shall retire from my 'day job' in less than 2 years time, then I shall properly commence my 'life-long' project, creating traditional fairy paintings in oils on canvas. I'm not bad with a camera. My first job, after leaving art school (during the Late Stone Age), was as a photographer on a newspaper. (I have also been a wedding photographer in the distant past.) I have a website at www.philipmalpass.com, however, the work shown there is only about my past as a commercial artist (for 20 years) and does not really show the new direction I wish to go in.
I am seeking slender models (fairy types) to photograph, before drawing and painting them. I prefer outdoor, natural lighting but will use hired studios during the Winter months. I always expect to pay.
If you would not object to possibly being stuck in an oil painting, perhaps for centuries, then maybe we could work together. Phil.
