About Me

Greetings MM!

My Name is Dwyer and I've reached a new pinnacle with my photography. It has always been a hobby of mine and I have always had a camera in some form or another. The advent of accessible digital hardware made it easier for me to become more adventurous. No longer was I limited by my disposable camera and making every shot count, always keeping in mind what the people at the photo lab would think if they saw these... I became free to have folder after folder of nature and architecture pile up in their own dedicated external hard drive.

As things go I was eventually in possession of my first (in relative terms) professional camera. This made me crave taking better photos and my attention started creeping toward model based subject matter. This layered with my relatively recent acquisition of editing knowledge let my skills as a photographer blossom, keeping post work in mind as I shot.

That being said, I have always been the outgoing type, center of attention kind of presence in the room. That attribute didn't seem to cross over into my photography. I'm not sure if it's because I feel I don't have a place among my peers? I'm in above my head? At the end of the day I can't figure it out and I remain shy behind the camera. I look to my model for inspiration and cross my fingers. I'm looking for models that may have their own ideas for shoots or are just looking to build their portfolios. I'm not looking to generate money for myself from this hobby, it's just one of my many artistic outlets.

But who's to say I won't reach that pinnacle one day? Being new here I will be sending many of you friend requests as I try to build a network of artists, this may be a request with no attached greeting message and for that I apologize in advance. I hope to at least say hello to everyone I friend.

I'm looking for like minded people. Period. If we vibe, that's what transfers onto the final product. If you like my stuff and I like yours, that's just a bonus. I'd even love to be a secondary photographer. I'm down for field trips.

My interests as a photographer are more inspired by my surroundings. If you as a model are comfortable and enjoying yourself I will naturally be experiencing your enjoyment through the lens. I'm always looking for a new experience. If you do wood working? I would become fascinated by the process and explore it with my camera. My idea of a perfect shoot is the ability to be a fly on the wall and let my subject do its thing.
Some ideas I've been keen to shoot:
-Sports, but the in between stuff. The moment before the action starts, the look in the eyes, the gearing up with equipment....
-The classic "Smokey bar" shot filled with reflection and sorrow
-Tattoos and alternative art
-Portraits (but not with my DIY budget)
-Anything music related
-Some kind of cafe shoot
-OMG I want to do a 90's rave shoot SO bad
(This area will be ever expanding)

Depending on how many flattering pictures of myself I can find I may put up a site for my in front of the camera work, not my passion but something I am a little interested in.

But please, strike up conversation, let's create
Regards, Dwyer Davies
