Darryl Treadwell was born on Long Island, New York (yup a New Yorker). As a teen, he moved to Los Angeles, California where he lived for a number of years. He has lived in several states in the U.S., as well as the countries of the Republic of Korea and Germany. He is currently active duty military and lives in Miami, FL.

He joined Model Mayem in order to add to his portfolio, grow his business, network with others and develop his photography skills and techniques.

Mr. Treadwell first became interested in photography around the age of 10. Shortly after he discovered photography, he was introduced to a gentleman by the name of Michael Milanziner (sp). He recalls Mr. Milanziner being a freelance photographer in New York City in the late 1970’s with work published in several publications. Mr. Milanziner was Mr. Treadwell’s first real influence in photography. Mr. Treadwell remembers Mr. Milanziner’s portfolio amazed by the images, the stories behind them, what the images expressed and represented.

Mr. Treadwell approaches photography as an art form: a fusion of technical understanding, vision, and expression. He has chosen this medium as a means of documenting the world, people, and events around him. He finds many things of interest and beautiful, yet observes, as we live our lives, much of what the surrounding world shows us are never truly considered and appreciated. In this manner, the beauty and reality of life is often lost in time –never to be seen again. Creating beautiful and impactful images that record the moments of our lives and the world around us is what inspires Darryl Treadwell.
