Thanks for visiting my profile.

I am an East Coast transplant to Texas (as of May 2024), via the Pacific Northwest, and I have degrees in art and law. I worked in catalog photography while an undergrad design student at Rutgers. Starting my collegiate career as an illustration major, I soon discovered painting and photography, ultimately graduating with a BA in Art & Design. In addition to my BA from Rutgers, I also studied at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NYC. I have also done a small amount of artist modeling.

Happily married for over 30 years, I make my living as an attorney, I consider myself a journeyman photographer, and my primary interest in photography is in making art and building my portfolio. I originally picked up the camera as a means for creating reference photos for paintings, until I fell in love with the photograph as art in its own right.

I am not a traditional photographer, per se; I am interested in drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, and mixed media, but I love the relative immediacy of photography in the digital age, and use it primarily as a medium to document the beautiful, and in creating what I hope are beautiful images, to transcend the mundane and to reach for the sublime.

Being a visual artist, everything is ultimate geared towards the final image. I am especially interested in creating painterly images. I enjoy collaborating with models in the art-making process.
