Hi my name is Mike and I've been taking pictures for the last four years.

The obsession began when I'd been recently made redundant and I found personal value in experimenting with and creating iPhoneography. I bought my first DSLR in March and ever since I've struggled to put it down. I'm entirely self taught from videos and training material I've found online. The more images I take, the more I enjoy being a creative and the more I want to learn. Ultimately I want to have my own business and every day I'm making sure I do at least one thing that moves me closer to my goal.

So why am I here?

Joining PurplePort is all part of the learning process for me and the journey I'm on. I'm looking for models to help with my experience and my learning. Every time I pick up the camera I learn something new.

I'm currently doing my photography around a 9-5 desk job and (whilst my wife and son are very supportive) I need to honour my role as a husband and father.
