Akira Yamada
Hair Stylist/Hair Artist. Born in Saitama.
He was originally trained as a hair artist at Vidal Sassoon. After working for a couple of hair salons both in Japan and in London, he started his career as a hair stylist.

In 2009, he moved to London and worked mainly for editorials, such as GARAGE, CLASH, Roller Coaster. He did hair styling for celebrities and artists, such as Sam Smith, Daisy Lowe, Porter Robinson. From 2011, he served as the 1st assistant for Angelo Seminara (Streeters) for 3 years.
From 2014, he joined Milan collection and Paris collection for Dolche&Gabbana, Louis Vitton, Missoni,
Prada, Valentino as a member of Guido Palau's team.

Upon his return to Japan in 2015, he started working in Japan. He excels in making sophisticated and natural forms and silhouettes.

In Japan, he works mainly in fashion magazines, such as WWD Japan and Nylon Japan. His is expanding his horizon working with idol group AKB48 and actors and artists, such as Hiroshi Fujiwara, Tadanobu Asano, Shunsuke Kazama. He also works for catalogs for ADIDAS, American Apparel, Swarovski, Onitsuka Tiger.
He speaks Japanese and English. He enjoys climbing mountains, cycling, gardening, and visiting museums and cafes in his free time. He works in various media including movies and magazines.
