Life takes interesting turns. I have not seriously touched a camera for over 12 months because of Covid 19. I could have gone back to nature photography. But somehow I could not find joy in it. I found it hard to celebrate when so many people were being negatively affected by the pandemic. Simply put, it depressed me.

But I am coming back. I am very interested in making images again – but want to do it in a collaborative way. For me that means talk then shoot. I will provide some links to some of the projects that I am interested in. I also want to focus seriously on dance photography.

For me, too much photography has a dominance | submission dynamic to it. The photographer dominates, the model submits. Much as I appreciate that the switch element of that dynamic in sensual | sexual play, I would like to move beyond it in my creative work. I want to find a more balanced form of partnership. I find images which are the result of the ideas of both side – the person behind the camera, and the person(s) in front of it are the powerful results of a creative dance of ideas and execution.

My avatar is a portrait of Daitan, a German Shepherd who taught me more about courage in the last 18 months of his life than any human that I have ever known. He had "Lou Gehrig's" disease, which denied him the use of his back legs. But once he was in a doggie wheel chair, he just keeping on going and going, never complaining, always taking each day in stride.

I use his portrait here as a way of saying thanks to him.
