Hi Model Mayhem!

My name is Maria A. Munguia! I'm super thrilled to launch my onsite hairstyling business MAM Hair Artistry here in Dallas. I started cosmetology school in my sophomore year of high school, then moved to Dallas a few days later from California. I was blessed to have relatives who had friends that had just opened a hair salon, and I worked there for 9 years while going to college. Hairstyling has always been my passion, but unfortunately I rerouted my career thinking I should get an education in nursing, however that did not work out , yes I went to school completed my degree but something was off, it wasn't me. The salon I worked for closed down and I was offered an administrative position for one of my clients business, and worked myself up to as an Office Manager, but still something was not right. It took me 7 years to finally call it quits and do what I LOVE, HAIR! I continued to do hair during that time frame, on the side, weekends mostly, and wished with every inch of my body for it to be my full time job; however like many, I was too scared to afraid of what others might think, and mostly the fear of failing. We live in a world where if you don't have "professional career you are looked down upon, but I don't care anymore, this is what I want, this what I'm darn good at and I will follow it! :)
I'm now 33 years old, and yes I told myself, you might be too old for this, but NO, after I saw the GRAND Sharon Blain, I said "wait a minute" I have way much more to give! I do not regret my past, in some shape or form it molded a more fierce, stronger and outspoken women, and I love her! I'm ready to work, I'm ready to learn, and ready to share my skills! I would love to be part of the Model Mayhem team!
