In my life, I have been a professional travel photographer but I have also always enjoyed photographing young (and older ) men. Some of these shoots have just been to help someone have an improved image for social profiles, others to explore the potential of aspiring models. My aim is to find both the beauty and the personality of anyone I photograph. Sometimes also to find grace and movement, making use of different, even challenging lighting and including the surrounding environment. I use Model Release forms where appropriate and occasionally will agree a small session fee but mostly I look for TFP models although I will always try to help with travel expenses, meals etc.

I am not seeking to be a commercial photographer but with decades behind the camera, I see myself as more than a hobbyist. I am less experienced with model than travel shoots but I am aiming to achieve professional results, to aim is good even when there is always lots more to learn!

I am based in Portsmouth UK in the varied surroundings of Hampshire and Sussex. I also have a house in Spain near Alicante and travel when I can including to Asia where I appreciate the many beautiful potential subjects.

My most recent work has been a great shoot with a model called Kirean from Guildford, with excellent results including Jiu Jitsu! Before that a shoot with Mushraf from Leeds, a charming, hardworking and professional model. The shoots were fun and the results pleased both photographer and model while also showing aspects that can be improved next time.

Last spring, I was able to work in Thailand with a model with great fluidity of movement, he is called BashuBashu. This multi location shoot produced some memorable images which I am still exploring.

My name is Richard, I will be pleased to hear from potential male models and other photographers who are interested in my work. I mostly turn down friend requests from retouchers and female models, nothing personal, just not what I am looking for.
