George Peters is a Minneapolis based digital artist. He combines his two loves: illustration and photography with his passions: people, animals, and exploring the world through line, texture and tone.

George worked many years as an advertising art director in Manhattan and Minneapolis. He learned the art of visual story telling from some amazing hall of fame characters before striking out on his own. Along the way he created two books of humorous essays and illustrations published by Penguin Books.

In a typical year you may find Mr. Peters exploring remote slot canyons in southern Utah, photographing and playing with rescued sloths in Panama or hanging in a Milan cafe photographing life as it passes by. His happiest place? Hunkered down in his studio creating illustrations from those wonderful experiences. He has illustrated thousands of images for iStockphoto.com, GettyImages and many, many clients around the world.

When asked what is most important about his work, George explained that every element in his images is original, taken from his photographs. He never grabs visual reference from the internet. Every recognizable face in his portfolio has a signed model release and a story to go with it.

George is married (30 years!), has a grown son who is a product designer and has two dogs who give him unconditional love when not demanding to be let out, let in, and let back out again.
