Designer Delvin McCray launched his first collection Fall of 2016. The designer's vision was to successfully create a brand that equally merges the luxury and urban life artistically. With the ideology of challenging the norm, Delvin pushes to deliver an intricate story in each garment crafted. Delvin began studying the fine arts in high school on the south side of Chicago, and later majoring in Fashion Design at Columbia College Chicago. While at Columbia, he interned with a master of couture bead work, a tailor, and a London based master corsetier, perfecting the elements of tailoring and corestry, which would later be the blueprint to the House of McCray. Inspiration, ranging from art, history, and philosophy, has become the forefront for the visuals that guides Delvin's designs. Craftmanship, beadwork, and intricate hand techniques are also elements valued by the designer.
Delvin belongs to the fraternity Kappa Alpha Psi Incorporated. Oftentimes visiting his old high school for motivational speeches, the designer mentors our future leaders as someone once did the same with him. Accolades including winning the Airport Green Fashion Competition, Stanley Paul Fashion Fund, CFF competition, and the Richard Driehaus Design Initiative.
