Hi there, I am an emerging photographer originally from Montreal though now based in Toronto for the last 9 years. I come from a second generation Polish immigrant family and grew up in a house hold of creative souls and rebels. I completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Concordia University studying Computation Arts & Design as a specialization. There, I was introduced to digital mediums from animation to interactive installations though my heart strongly gravitated towards performance and spatial installation art works. Tinkering with graphic design and service jobs, I then moved on to complete my Masters of Architecture at University of Toronto thinking architecture is an incredible balance between the practical and creative. After a few years in the field and teaching architecture, I realized very quickly that all my architecture projects turned out to be art projects and that my true identity belongs within the visual arts. Currently, I work part-time as a design curator at Daniels Faculty of Architecture at University of Toronto and am working towards becoming a full-time visual artist with several projects on the go. My artistic style usually encapsulates a kind of poetic, melancholic, provocative feel. The works tend to have an interactive component to them, are time based performance pieces that I art direct or photoshoots that somehow relay back to the performance works. My artistic practice methods are heavily based on research and exploring ideas via constant sketching and writing. At the moment, I am working on a project that is a performance art installation that requires models and a friend of mine strongly recommended Model Mayhem to help me find talented people to work with either on this project or future projects to come. I think being part of an artist community like Model Mayhem is extremely important and can serve as a support system that I really hope to engage in.
