SCOTT JAMES - BIO
BACKGROUND / NARRATIVE

An Oregon native, Scott James began his career as a commercial photographer while earning his Bachelors Degree in Commercial Music and a Business Minor from Azusa Pacific University. Six years of freelancing in Los Angeles with the likes of Disney Parks, Paramount Pictures, TGA, and Capitol Records, Scott developed a keen sense of focused media deployment in a wide spectrum of markets.

The following five years found Scott back in Southern Oregon where he founded Structure One Incorporated; a land development holding company. Upon completing 2 Urban-Growth Developments totaling over 60 residential lots + finished homes, Scott redirected focus to his roots in media, and founded the Captivus Group.

The Captivus Group established a significant presence in Portland, OR as a full service branding co-op from 2008 - 2012, servicing accounts that include, NIKE, ADIDAS, COLUMBIA, COCA-COLA, MEN’S HEALTH, RUNNER’S WORLD, DRYFLY DISTILLING, SPECRTON IR, OMSI, FORD, KIA, RED BULL, ALASKA AIR, PATAGONIA, and IMTA.

Following his time on the west coast Scott relocated to NYC where he held the position of Media Director at CBAtelier a creative agency servicing accounts including Under Armour, Billionaire Boys Club, The Smithsonian, MDC, Victoria’s Secrete, MIT Media Lab, Bionic Yarn, Valentin, and NASA.
Currently Scott is based in NYC, - Owner and Creative Director at MadGoat Media
