I started modeling last summer in Brooklyn, New York. I am looking for opportunities to work with other creatives to make their visions come to life. I want to build my portfolio, gain more experience, network and create art with other talented people in this business. When I was younger, I would watch America’s Next Top Model marathons all afternoon. Back then I was a stagnant 5’2 but I would talk about going on that show when I was older. I wanted to walk the runways, take beautiful pictures and express myself through fashion. I also wanted to travel and meet other models too but everyone told me that was no career. People would tell me to go to school and be an engineer because that’s where the money was. It led me to doubt my own creative potential. As I got older, I started outgrowing those around me physically and mentally. I was taller than all my friends in middle school and high school. I hated being tall and skinny. But soon I grew to love how it made me stand out. The height was a blessing in all actuality. Though I was scared to really start modeling because I felt that there were more beautiful women out there who could be chosen, I realized another woman’s beauty does not make me any less beautiful. That’s the kind of confidence anyone could see in the pictures I take. Modeling to me is now a passion I fully want to pursue and see where it takes me.
