About Me

I'm a conceptual artist and illustrator. My work often centers around cultural criticism and our relationships with work and technology - how we attempt to use technology as a way to augment and improve our lives, but in doing so often allow technology to change our society in negative ways that quickly become normalized without any broader discussion or consideration among the participants.

For my current project, Toilet World 2, I have built an all-in-one computer that is essentially a toilet with a connected keyboard and VR headset. The project is meant to be an installation modeled after a tech trade show or conference where new products are unveiled. The product will be pitched as a new 'game changing' technology, and presented with heavily stylized branding similar to apple advertisements.

The central piece of the installation will be a cubicle with four of these toilet computers, which we hope to have staffed by real life models. This is meant to be a 'demo' of the product, showing off the new, ultra-productive 'worker of the future' who, through our product, has been freed of their basic biological constraints. In addition, we will have complimentary pieces in the form of satirical catalogs that list our products (similar to the quarterly dell catalogs where they list their new computer models), as well as mock information and use-cases where people replaced their staff with these workers and saw huge profit increases.

The overall goal of the work is to illustrate in a base and humorous way how technology can easily be manipulated into a means of control and subjugation - the physical embodiment of living at work, which is a theme many people encounter in their daily lives.
