Hello all! Im a female freelance photographer, & I own/run Other World Studio, a NY based Photography studio & Gallery Space where I mainly work with models artists and dancers shooting headshots, books, & sets. I typically focus on avante garde & artful erotica-pinup style photography (ie -modern Bettie Paige) because the female body itself is a work of art thats meant to be embraced, empowered & celebrated by all and I believe my work speaks to that. I’ve been working as a professional Photographer since 2005 & I’ve traveled the globe with my work. Each shoot to me is a transformative experience, after gaining an understanding and appreciation for my subjects, I look for a way to express who they are in a way no one else has and in a way the world hasn’t seen.
For me, photography is more than a profession. It’s a passion- its the way I look at the entire world around me & finding ways to capture that into a single frame. Its about the model-photographer relationship and having a comfortable studio space where the model can be herself to let her natural beauty shine bright, it’s what makes a person uniquely beautiful and translates into an image that speaks for itself.
Career Accomplishments: ✭started career by apprenticing with fine art photographer Renee Cox (her work has been shown in The MOMA & The Smithsonian) /Ive had 6 different photo shoots with sets of 40-60 images each accepted & published on SuicideGirls.com (I love their alt pinup style) / I was chosen as the Feature Photographer for poetry magazine Illogical Muse, published quarterly print & digital editions, with my photography on the cover and 8 mages included within/ I’ve worked as an Art Therapist throughout my career as well, specifically with children with autism to help build communication and create alternate ways to express emotion through art/ ✯Notable Awards include :The Upstream People Gallery’s Jurors Recognition Award for both 9th &10th Annual All Media Art Shows for “Pinnacle” & “Inner Turmoil” (images can be seen in my portfolio) /Currently a 13 year member of The P.P.A. -Professional Photographers of America Assoc.
Ive been a member of Model Mayhem since 2008 (tho this is a new profile) & love the atmosphere & im always grateful for the opportunity to work with new models and help them put their vision into its physical translation to share with the world.
Generally, my fees based on the location -if travel?, number of images, and if editings required & the type of editing. If you have a really novel idea I can use on my site or if you’re starting out message me to discuss TFP.
