My name is Janell Mills also known as “Jae Millz”. I am a 23 year old from Brooklyn, NY, and raised in Harlem, NY. From the city life to the country life in North Carolina, I’ve discovered my passion to give back to my black community. I completed highschool at the age of 16 and began my studies at North Carolina Central University where I received both my Bachelors and Masters in Social Work; I then knew I was meant to be a role model. During my four years of undergrad, I was granted the title of Miss Social Work 2019. While balancing school, work, toxic relationships, and whatever else you can think of that college students go through, I made room for one of my talents, modeling. While going through a domestic violence relationship at the age of 18, I discovered modeling was my escape room, I realized I was the happiest when I was in front of a camera. I am currently a brand ambassador for Luxx Curves and planning to work with many other brands. Not only am I a model, I am a self taught Make-Up artist, vlogger, social worker and a black lesbian feminist poet. Through my poetry, I hope to empower women and be an activist for black women and self-love. I love to cook, go to the movies, travel, listen to live music, and be around good vibes. I’ve been living on my own since the age of 16. I’m a pretty open minded and chill person and strive to surround myself with like minded people. A quote I love to stand by is “When black women stick together, we are the most powerful force in the universe” -Alfre Woodard. With that being said, Black women… Let’s make it happen!
